Hey!
My name is Thomas Hazewindus, I am a final year student of the bachelor Industrial Engineering and Management. Besides my studies, I have been very active within my study association, S.A. Stress.
This year, I have been in the University Council on behalf of UReka. My main portfolio was education, and I am proud to say that we have achieved a lot for students on this subject this year. The new Education and Exam Regulation, for example, means that the 0-15 rule will been abolished in most programs, which is greatly beneficial!
Especially the last few months in the council have been very interesting. Due to the corona crisis, all educational programs have been forced to make all of their courses digital in a very short period. As a result of this, each program now creates a lot of digital material. These recorded lectures can be of tremendous value in the coming years as a support to real life educational activities. Unfortunately, this will only work if we give lecturers the appropriate resources to create a high level recording of their lecture.
I therefore advocate to invest in these resources, and treat this crisis as an opportunity to improve our education!
