Hi everyone! My name is Tom Tankink and I am currently in my second year of the Bachelor Mechanical Engineering. Last year I was part of the board of my study association, W.S.G. Isaac Newton. This was an amazing, but sometimes also a challenging experience in these rapidly changing times. As a Commissioner of Educational Affairs, I encountered a lot of problems that originated from this rapid change at the UT and most importantly found out that for solving these problems the ‘current student’ was not at the centre of attention. For me, it is important that we as a current group of students make clear what is best for us, so that our voices will be heard, both in education and in the entire campus community.
